I’ve been providing musicians for weddings for 3 years now and I always end up asking, "Wala ba kayong themesong?"

Themesongs…Yuck! Kadiri…I know I know it’s mushy and most couples won’t admit they have one…But let’s forget about couplehood for awhile, and think about the other guilty party - ALL OF US. "Me???A theme song?" Yep…All human beings are built the same way - you see something and some tune suddenly starts playing in your head- something that takes a truckload of rap tunes or heavy metal to overthrow. Or it can be the other way around, you hear a tune and you associate an experience, a person or even a scent with it…

So, my girlfriends and I sat down on this topic, one rainy afternoon in Tagaytay and here are some of the best I could remember…

SEXY BACK - Ang sexy ng back nya. . .talikogenic. . . Kung pwede lang syang nakatalikod the whole time. . .

DON’T TELL YOUR GIRLFRIEND ABOUT ME - Para sa lahat ng mga babaeng naging kabit . . . Subtle version ng Hiram. . . May isang umagang di mo hahagkan . . .

UMUWI KA NA BABY - Parati akong pinapauwe sa gitna ng gimmick.

Been listening to Beyonce’s "Irreplaceable" a few minutes ago, and up until I dug up the lyrics, did it ever hit as me as more than the song with the TO THE LEFT line going over and over… The groovy beat and the "kulot-kulot" actually blurs out most of the words, but my favorite line of all goes: So don’t you ever think for a second, you’re irreplaceable!

At last, someone gave Usher the supposed reply to his CONFESSIONS. I mean the guy admits to getting someone else pregnant, and he expects his girl to understand…Maybe if you had Usher’s washboard abs I’ll give it some thought (plus kalbo sya ) But certainly not worth the tears.  Face it, ladies, marami pa rin sa tin ang martyr! We try to keep our man, no matter what the odds are ( including buying a set of mags for his car ). And I admit to being guilty of still trying to make things work, even after I found out he cheated 5 times . . Actually, isa lang nabuko ko, 4 ang inamin nya…hahaha. Honesty is not the best policys sometimes…But the world is a fair world…DON’T ASK ME HOW I GOT AN EXPLOSIVE REVENGE…:)

But a part of this song that makes me think goes: " Everything you own in the box to the left. If i bought it baby please dont touch." You might find this immature, but it’s actually a dillema when you are met with the truckload of crap you bought him and the question…"charity or garage sale? " In my case, the money was so worth it even if it was a depreciation by more than 50%. Kahit P20 pwede na yan…mawala lang sa paningin ko…the price of my moving on ba…

So if youre still keeping a box full of shirts and shoes tucked away for crying when a date fails, isipin mo nalang maraming nangangailangan sa Albay…Case in point…my friend donated everything he ever gave her— so if you see a grief stricken victim wearing a black see - through Victori’as secret nightie, you know where that came from. . .  All though women love to savor the thought of your dear old ex, returning with repentance on his hands and knees, there is a time to let go…

After one too many break - ups, a good buddy caught me in an award winning moment and he said "do you think he’s sobbing like crazy over the loss of you?"  And I immediately felt better…It’s a cruel world…We all don’t wanna be alone…We all want to make our current into forever…But sometimes you just gotta think that about what we deserve…and how we should be treated…and how he, too can be easily replaceable…
